TO DISCOVER THE POWER IN YOU.

Discover a University on The Move

If you've ever kick-started a Harley Davidson, or heard one revving up, you have a sense of its power, energy and excitement rippling through your senses.

You'll feel the same sense of energy at Longwood. It's a university on the move – and all students, faculty and staff will benefit from the ride.

Some of the exciting projects underway include:

  • New Rec Center – Get fit; have fun. The new recreation center will feature two basketball courts, a fitness area with more than 120 pieces of equipment, three aerobics rooms, a 30 foot climbing wall, two racquetball courts a juice bar and locker rooms. And that's just the first floor. The mezzanine will feature a four-lane indoor running track above the basketball courts. (If swimming is your thing, don't fret; the old gym still houses the pool.) For more information, head over to longwood.edu for the project overview.
  • Longwood Landing – City living downtown. Longwood Landing will offer new university apartments built on top of new retail right across the street from campus. Grab your books, and a latté, before heading to class. For more information, view the press release over at longwood.edu.
  • New Science Building – Explore your inner Edison in Longwood's new science building, four stories and 72,000 square feet of state-of-the-art laboratories, classrooms and research offices. For more information, view the press release on longwood.edu.

Longwood basketball gameIn addition to dorms, Longwood features student apartment complex living at Sun Chase, Longwood Village and Stanley Park communities within minutes of campus.

Longwood athletes are also on the move, transitioning to Division 1 status, the highest level of NCAA sports.

D1 promises new athletic and intramural facilities, exciting competition with some of the biggest names in college sports, greater visibility and new enthusiasm.

There's never been a better time to be part of Longwood.
